Why Zina is Prohibited (Haram) in Islam?

In Islam, the term “zina” refers to any form of unlawful sexual intercourse. It is considered a major sin and is prohibited in Islamic teachings. The prohibition of zina is based on the teachings of the Qur’an and the Hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad).

And let a group of the believers witness their punishment.”

Islam places great emphasis on the sanctity of marriage and the preservation of the family unit. Sexual relations are deemed permissible only within the confines of a valid and lawful marriage between a man and a woman. Any sexual activity outside of this marital relationship, such as premarital sex, extramarital affairs, or adultery, is considered a violation of the Islamic principles and is classified as zina.
